FAQs
Does country ham need to be refrigerated?
No, as long as the vacuum seal is intact refrigeration is not necessary. After the seal has been broken, your product will have a shelf life of approximately 2 weeks in the refrigerator.
What is the best way to store country ham?
Country ham does not need to be refrigerated, although we recommend storing it somewhere in a mild/cool climate. Excessive heat can cause the vacuum seal to break.
I don't see a "best by" date. Is my ham safe to eat?
Country ham is a cured product so it doesn't go "bad". For quality purposes, we recommend enjoying your country ham no more than 18 months after the package date. However, as long as the vacuum seal is not broken, it is safe to eat well beyond that time period.
My country ham is too salty. What can I do?
If you prefer a milder flavor of ham, we recommend soaking it in water before you cook it.
How do you cook country ham?
Frying or grilling country ham slices is the most common method of preparation.
